My Study Journey In Malaga, Spain Without Knowing Spanish

I arrived in Malaga on a beautiful day in January. I was smiling when looking outside the window of the taxi and reaching my new destination. It was such an amazing feeling as I had never been to a foreign country before. However, my Spanish is not great and I have started facing a bit of difficulty once I stepped out over here.

This city has attracted a lot of attention from international students from different parts of the world as there are some amazing universities. different universities offer the students with academic opportunities to the students. I have got enrolment at the University of Malaga which is a public research university that is ranked 23rd amongst the Spanish universities and 683 across the world. The university offers students 65 degree courses and 6 double degrees, more than 21 doctoral programs, 64 master’s degrees, and also 100 courses across the academic year. Whenever you want to go with Málaga Study Abroad, then you need to stay in good accommodation.

I had the best experience in student accommodation

The students who are planning to study in Malaga and are searching for student accommodation over here. this city offers different kinds of student accommodation to the international students that are safe for the students. El Paso is one of the top-notch and most charming coastal vicinity which has a relaxed environment. They offer the students beautiful beaches, traditional seafood restaurants, and also a laid-back lifestyle. Another top-notch neighborhood across the city is the La Malagueta which is close to the city center and offers a great blend of historic charm as well as modern amenities. it is known for its beautiful beaches and is located within walking distance of the city’s main attractions.

I stayed at the Livensa Living Malaga Feria Malaga which is situated right on the C. Baliza in Spain. The Facultad de Ciencias is situated around 0.3 miles from accommodation for students in Malaga and it takes around 5 minutes of walking to reach the campus so you can save on the transportation costs and time. in addition to it, the Campus de Teatinos at the Universidad de Malaga is just 15 minutes away by bike. This apartment is one of the best and it is the way it looked in the pictures. it is modern, clean, and bright and also comes with a stunning view of the city. The location was also much better. it took a few days for me to unpack, manage monthly bus passes, and also get a membership in the gym.

Being one person who doesn’t have a sense of direction, this place was perfect. However, it is recommended to learn Spanish a little bit before coming to Malaga. When I was staying here, I got a chance to visit Cologne, Dublin as well as Copenhagen. I am so grateful I got to visit such amazing cities before the semester started because, at the moment, I did not realize that this would be one of the only chances to travel for the rest of the exchange.

Cost of living in Malaga

If you are thinking about what will be the study journey in Malaga cost, then I would say the monthly expense will be between €700 to €1000. This will include the rent, food, transportation, medical costs as well as other miscellaneous expenditures. However, this will vary depending on your personal choices.

Exploring Malaga

  • Whenever I was bored and thinking of what to do in my free time, I go out and explore the beautiful city during the weekends. You can visit the most famous church if you want some peace.
  • Exploring Malaga’s market is the best time to pass. Mercado Central de Atarazanas is one of the best markets for one to explore. It is one of the old-school covered markets with a wide range of food items and also some different tapas bars in a colorful setting.
  • If you love nature and are looking for parks, then you can go to Malaga Park which is quite big. This was started in the year 1897 and it is spread across 33 hectares of city green space comprising botanical gardens, fountains, and sculptures. The city is also known for its beautiful museums.
